My ex grabbed my son by the throat, put his fist in my son’s face and threatened to hit him. He also said, “Please, give me an excuse.” My son sat in the chair, and said and did nothing. My ex taunted him and tried to get my son to fight with him, but my son refused. I kept shouting at my ex to let my son go and get out of my house, but he ignored me until I picked up the phone and started dialing. Then he released my son and walked slowly out the door. I was so angry with my ex, especially after I saw the red finger marks on my son’s throat. My son wanted to call the police and file charges against my ex, so I encouraged him. A police officer came out and took a report, my ex was charged with assault and eventually a court date was set. My ex insisted on a hearing because he claimed he had done nothing wrong.
